Over the past few months I've been hard at work focusing on product development and releases, and I wanted to share a not-so-quick update email on what's been happening.

'Book Moves' Cheat Sheets

This has been in the works for several months, but last week I finally wrapped it up. Won't lie, after a while these started doing my head in.

There were at least a few weeks where each day blurred into one with the same routine. Work, coffee shop work, lunch, coffee shop work, dinner, coffee shop work, sleep, dream about work... haha

But I'm glad they're done and really proud of how they turned out.

Expansion & Visual Redesign All book moves cheat sheets have had a visual refresh and tidy up, and have been expanded to include about 100 more openings. Now each variation starts from the very first move and has better formatting and layouts for usability and recall.

Print-Optimised Versions For The Book Moves Openings Additionally, for every book move cheat sheet, there's a print-optimised version with reduced colours and exported in a higher resolution, to make it cheaper and better for your print costs.

These book moves cheat sheets are exclusive to other bundles and aren't currently sold separately. Existing customers can find the updated versions in the same Google Drive folders as before.

NEW: Blunder & Best Move Checklists

One customer (hey Ross) suggested this a few months ago, and it truly was a forehead-smacking moment. We're called Chess Cheat Sheets but didn't have a cheat sheet for some of the most common problems found in real games. This gives you a clear step-by-step thinking process to follow to avoid bad moves and find good moves; a quick path to improvement.

Interactive Checklists To Prevent Blunders and Find The Best Move All this week I've been designing and building these new checklists to help you avoid blunders and find the best moves from any board position. Simply go through the checklist for your elo whenever making a move to give yourself a small, consistent advantage. Interactive with print-optimised versions.

The Best Move Checklist walks you through finding your strongest move in any position, whether that's a forcing tactic sitting right there on the board or a quieter positional idea you'd otherwise miss.

The Blunder Checklist is the safety net you run straight after, catching the hanging piece, the missed fork, or the mate in one before you commit to a move you can't take back.

The aim with these checklists are simple. They're not about grinding more puzzles or memorising deep opening lines. That's what our opening resources are for.

The intention here is to give you something that helps you stop throwing away losing positions from habitual autopilot move-making that could have been caught with a quick 10-second scan.

Future Release Roadmap

I'm also doing a bit of a pivot to focus more on chess coaching resources and creating practical workbooks for general chess improvement.

Over the next few months, that will eat up more of my product creation time, but I'm aiming to still build the opening trainers for these new book moves cheat sheets, as well as the pawn training app that so many asked for.
